The Cost of Negligence in Nigeria

Negligence is a failure to exercise appropriate or ethical ruled care expected to be exercised among specified circumstances. The core concept of negligence is that people should exercise reasonable care in their actions by taking account of the potential harm that they might curse to other people or property.
Someone or a group of people who suffers loss cursed by another's negligence may be able to sue for damages to compensate them for the harm. Such loss may include physical injuries, economic loss, harm to property or psychiatric illness.
Should we sue the Nigerian Government for negligence?
The act of negligence as displaced by the Nigerian government in the response to the violent uprising of the Boko Haram group has cost the country a good chunk of its economy. The Violent uprising of the Boko Haram started in 2009 when their leader Mohammed Yusuf was summarily executed and since then, the group has been led by Abubakar Shekau.
In 2014, i went to serve my beautiful country in the National Youth Service Corps programme in Abuja. Barely a week after the camping ended, i was involved in the first Nyanya bomb blast that preceded the kidnapping of 276 schoolgirls from Chibok in April 2014. The bomb blast was a new thing to me because i was coming from Lagos state which happens to be one of the safe places in Nigeria at the time. I actually thought it was fireworks but hey! fireworks don't happen in the morning. The bomb blast made me feel what the northerners have been going through in reference to the Boko Haram insurgence. At least 88 people lost their lives that day. I can't begin to point out how many terrorists activities that have been carried out by this Boko Haram group sine 2009. In 2014 only, the group killed over 6,600 people.
It all started like a minor crises. The Nigerian government actually neglected warnings about this group. I feel the government would have felt that it was just a little breeze, little did they know that it would turn into a hurricane. The group has graduated into a formidable terrorist group with huge funding. On March 7, 2015, the Boko Haram Leader pledged allegiance to Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and rebranding as Islamic State in West Africa
The activities of this Islamic terrorist groups around the world has made Islamic Religion look like a religion of death. The Islamic religion is actually on of the most peaceful religions around but the activities of its extremist members has left it tainted.
In Nigeria today, there is a new problem, a problem which if not well managed will graduate into something similar to Boko Haram; "The Herdsmen": The owner or a keeper of domestic animals. This definition is simple and sounds harmless but in Nigeria today, the herdsmen now carry weapons to kill whoever that is trying to stop their cows from grazing. They value cow lives more than humans.
The herdsmen have clashed severally with farmers and people in local communities, the latest being the plateau killings where over a hundred people lost their lives. Children, Teenagers and Adults are been killed everyday because "a cow is more valuable". Maybe i should become a Cow so that i can be safe and protected.
The Nigerian government is not doing enough as regards the issue of Herdsmen. President Buhari is not facing this issue squarely. The sacking of the service chiefs at the locations where these killings are taking place is not enough. I believe that, the military should be summoned. Even the military is not well equipped but at least they can help curtail this brewing disaster.
The activities of the Boko Haram and Herdsmen has affected every Nigerian. The country is not safe, properties are not safe, people are in danger but "The Cows" are safe.
The government should not leave anything to chance. Take swift actions that will protect the citizens.
